SCOTTISH SENIORS GOLFING SOCIETY
THE FOUNDING FATHERS OF THE SOCIETY

On the November, 2006, at Stirling Golf Club, an idea that had been in the minds of former Scottish amateur internationalist, Gordon MacDonald, and others became reality.

Their objective was to provide a series of competitive tournaments for senior amateur golfers over the age of 50.

Precisely who attended that first meeting is unknown, but from their number the first Captain and Committee were appointed, comprising:

  • Captain: Gordon MacDonald, Callander
  • Vice-Captain: Keith Howie, West Kilbride
  • Joint Secretary/Treasurer: Jim & Peter Kinloch, Cardross
  • East Area Rep: Ian Hutcheon, Monifieth
  • Central Area Rep: David Smith, Stirling
  • South Area Rep: George Rodaks, Moffat
  • North Area Rep: John Johnston, Royal Aberdeen

Thanks to their foresight, the Society was born and has continued to grow ever since.
